A popular farmers market here in the east has added Tuesday hours for shoppers during the peak growing season.

Starting next week on June 11, the Leroy James Farmers Market will open on Tuesdays from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. until August 20, 2024.

This announcement comes following the Board of County Commissioners meeting that was held on Monday, June 3.

The newly renovated Leroy James Farmers Market officially welcomed back shoppers for the 2024 season on March 16 for Saturdays only.

The market is located at 4560 County Home Road and includes fresh local produce, fresh meats, baked goods, artisan crafts, along with an array of other local specialties.

“Farmers Market vendors selected the mid-weekday and time, and the peak season period was determined with input from growers,” says PJ Andrews, Director, Pitt County Soil & Water Conservation District.

Shoppers can visit the market on Tuesdays from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
