Lewis Hamilton condemned for ‘inappropriate’ fashion choices as Ferrari move creeps closer
Nico Rosberg has criticised his former Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton’s fashion choices in the F1 paddock last season, describing them as “very strange and inappropriate”.
The comments come as Hamilton prepares to join Ferrari following a glittering spell with Mercedes that saw him win six Formula One titles.
Hamilton’s final race weekend with Mercedes in Abu Dhabi earlier this month saw him make several bold fashion statements in the paddock.
Rosberg, who shared the Mercedes garage with Hamilton, expressed disappointment with his former team-mate’s clothing choices during the farewell weekend.

He said, per Marca: “I see the decision as something very strange and inappropriate. It’s a shame. It’s his day and his choice, so it’s fine.”
Hamilton’s outfit choices throughout the Abu Dhabi weekend appeared to symbolise his transition from Mercedes to Ferrari.
The British driver began Thursday’s proceedings sporting an all-white ensemble.

On the Saturday, Hamilton opted for a red and white combination, seemingly beginning his shift towards Ferrari’s colours.
For raceday, Hamilton completed his sartorial transformation by wearing all red attire.
The deliberate colour progression from Mercedes’ association to Ferrari’s trademark red appeared to be Hamilton’s way of representing his upcoming move to the Italian team.
Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff took a lighter approach to the situation, comparing Hamilton to a Star Wars character.
Rosberg also commented on Hamilton’s relationship with Wolff, stating: “They appreciate him and they still have a good relationship, but it is a small detail that makes me sad.”
The fashion choices marked Hamilton’s final race weekend with Mercedes, where he has competed since 2013.

“The biggest difference is that Michael, among many other qualities, was able to develop a car perfectly for his driving style together with the engineers,” Schumacher told Sport1.de.
“Lewis can’t do that,” he added, suggesting Hamilton may face challenges in developing Ferrari’s car to his preferences.
