LG's Transparent 4K TV Goes on Sale for $60,000
LG has announced that its transparent 77-inch 4K OLED, which can switch between transparent and opaque modes, is now available to purchase for $60,000.
The LG OLED T TV, which was originally due to launch in mid-2024, uses a curtain to provide contrast when in opaque and is activated with the touch of a button.
This premium TV comes with a wireless connection box, with “visually lossless wireless video and audio transmission,” for plugging in your video sources.
It can also act as a canvas with the T-Object mode that rivals the Samsung Canvas and Roku’s Backdrop feature.
The LG OLED T comes with LG’s Alpha 11 AI processor, designed to improve image quality, as well as support Dolby Vision and 4k/120Hz gaming.
CNET’s David Katzmaier, who viewed the display at CES 2024, called it “one of the coolest TVs I’ve ever seen.” The company is no stranger to unusual, showstopping OLEDS, with the past release of the rollable TV.
At $65,000, the OLED T will be one of the most expensive TVs on the market, surpassing TCL’s 115-inch, which only costs $20,000.
