Liberty listed as one of the top jobs in college football
Earlier this month, The Athletic put out a listing of the top jobs in college football, and Liberty was listed No. 15 on this ranking.
The Athletic polled 50 people working in college football – from head coaches to general managers to assistant coaches, analysts and recruiting staffers – to determine which programs are at the top of the food chain.
The Flames were one of only two non-Power Four programs to make the list and one of only 19 programs that received votes.
Georgia was listed as the top job in college football followed by Texas, Ohio State, Alabama, and LSU to round out the top five. FAU checked in at No. 14, just ahead of the Flames.
On Liberty, an unnamed worker in college football stated, “they pay well, have really good facilities and that schedule.”
Jamey Chadwell is 18-1 in his second year leading Liberty. He came to Lynchburg from Coastal Carolina where he established a resume of being one of the top Group of Five head coaches. Prior to Chadwell, Hugh Freeze led the Flames into the early parts of its FBS era before being hired at Auburn.
Since moving to the FBS in 2018, Liberty has quickly become one of the best Group of Five programs in the country. With the program’s resources and facilities, it is clearly one of the best jobs at the Group of Five level and one of the best in the entire country.
