Library extends business hours at one of its locations

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – The Craighead Public Library will be extending its hours at its Brookland location.

Craighead Public Library Assistant Director Sara Stuart says that Brookland is continuing to grow as a community. They realized there was a need to keep the library open more. The library will also have more help as they have hired another full-time employee.

“Based on our door counts and everything, we have just seen that the Brookland library is very busy and growing and there’s a definite need for it to offer more for the community so we want to start by offering extended hours,” Stuart said.

Stuart also said that they are using funds from the special projects budget to offer these extended hours.

“The funds are going come from our Special Projects budget. The community has indicated that they would like us to spend more of those funds and so we’re going to put it where we are busiest,” Stuart said.

The library’s extended hours are from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

On Wednesday, the library will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Saturday the library will be open from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
