Fashion Island has long been a mecca for luxury and style in Southern California, and this year’s StyleWeekOC is raising the bar even higher. With its unique location and an ever-expanding roster of market-exclusive brands, Fashion Island in Newport Beach remains at the forefront of Orange County’s fashion scene. But this year’s event isn’t just about shopping and style—it’s a celebration of the convergence of two powerful industries that thrive on creativity and innovation.

One of the most anticipated moments of StyleWeekOC is the Newport Beach Film Festival‘s presentation of the Career Achievement Award in Costume Design to none other than Colleen Atwood, the legendary costume designer behind some of the most iconic looks in film history.

On Oct. 20, attendees will have the chance to hear from Atwood herself during an exclusive Q&A session, as well as view some of her stunning creations from “Beetlejuice” and the Apple TV+ series “Masters of the Air.” With four Academy Awards under her belt, Atwood has left an indelible mark on Hollywood, designing for everything from Tim Burton’s fantastical “Alice in Wonderland” to the sophisticated elegance of “Memoirs of a Geisha.” This opportunity to peek into the mind of such an esteemed designer is set to be one of the highlights of the week.

But the excitement doesn’t stop there. On Oct. 19, TV personality and New York Times bestselling author Stassi Schroeder will take center stage for a Q&A moderated by E! News host Keltie Knight. Schroeder, who rose to fame on “Vanderpump Rules,” will also be signing copies of her new book, “You Can’t Have It All.” Known for her unapologetic personality and candid conversations, Schroeder’s event will draw a crowd of fans eager to hear her take on life, work and her latest literary pursuit.

StyleWeekOC will also offer a star-studded dinner party, the always elegant Neiman Marcus Fashion Show, and the Newport Beach Film Festival Gala. A Red Carpet Ready panel at Bloomingdale’s Beauty will provide insider tips on how to get camera-ready for those enviable red carpet moments.

Film lovers will be treated to screenings of iconic fashion films, including “Bob Mackie: Naked Illusion,” a documentary that explores the illustrious career of the fashion designer who defined an era of Hollywood glamour. Additionally, “Beyond the Gaze: Jule Campbell’s Swimsuit Issue” will take audiences behind the scenes of one of the most iconic photo shoots in the fashion world, with stars like Elle Macpherson and Cheryl Tiegs attending the screening on Oct. 23.

This glitzy, star-studded weekend will also feature in-store shopping parties, offering a more intimate glimpse into some of Fashion Island’s newest and most beloved brands. From American Vintage’s playful popcorn machine to Good American’s Patch Party, guests can enjoy exclusive shopping experiences, DJ sets, and custom embroidery while mingling with the trendsetters of the fashion world. Retailers like LSpace, Paige, Rag & Bone and Veronica Beard will also have models showcasing their latest collections, giving attendees the chance to see the season’s hottest styles up close and personal.

In the spirit of celebrating creativity, StyleWeekOC and the Newport Beach Film Festival are the perfect marriage of fashion and film. As Fashion Island continues to evolve as the region’s premier retail destination, it’s clear that this year’s StyleWeekOC is about more than just celebrating trends—it’s about honoring the artistry that defines these two industries. From Colleen Atwood’s cinematic genius to the fashion-forward offerings from exclusive retailers, this year’s event promises to be an experience like no other.
