Lil Baby Quits Gambling After Losing $9 Million
Lil Baby Requests Casino Ban After Losing $9 Million in One Day.
Gambling is a favorite pastime for many wealthy and famous folks, and a big reason for that is they can handle significant losses without it impacting their lifestyle. Losing is just part of the game for serious gamblers, but Lil Baby recently shared a story on Lil Yachty’s podcast about a rough experience that made him quit gambling for good.
He recounted to Yachty that after an exhausting “probably 40 hours straight” of playing at a casino, he ended up losing around $8 million or $9 million. This led to what some might call a wake-up call for gambling addicts. Luckily, he figured out a practical way to deal with the situation.
“I made myself stop gambling…I had [Fanatics CEO and founder] Mike Rubin write a letter to every casino and ban me from the casino. Because I’ll just do s—.”
Looks like it did the trick. “I don’t gamble anymore,” he said. It’ll be curious to see how well he sticks to this self-imposed casino ban if he ever feels like hitting the tables again.
The tale grabbed the interest of rap’s king of roasting, 50 Cent, who posted a clip from the podcast on his Instagram, throwing in his own two cents.
“I thought only Floyd do s— like that. LOL come out the joint looking distraught. I’m just glad he didn’t kill no body.”
50’s comment has been taken down, but it managed to get picked up by several news outlets before that happened. His mention of Floyd Mayweather, with whom 50 has had a long history of back-and-forths, is spot on.
Mayweather is well-known for his gambling ways, having lost a staggering amount on sports bets and other gambling ventures over the years. Unlike Lil Baby, he doesn’t seem to mind a few losses here and there.
Lil Baby’s decision to quit gambling after losing millions shows a strong commitment to self-awareness and personal growth. By taking the initiative to have himself banned from casinos, he made a responsible choice that reflects his maturity and understanding of the potential risks associated with gambling.
