Liverpool Lads to kick off Marion Popcorn Festival at Palace Theatre on Thursday, Sept. 1
The Marion Popcorn Festival will present a free live entertainment event at the Marion Palace Theatre on Thursday, Sept. 5, with the performance of Liverpool Lads at the Popcorn Matinee.
Based in Northeast Ohio, Liverpool Lads has been recreating Beatles memories since 2009. The group uses replicas of the vintage instruments, amplifiers and wardrobes used by the Beatles to create accurate and live recreations of their inspiring music. The performances are live without backing tracks or overdubbing.
Sponsored by Aqua America and Buckeye Ridge Habitat for Humanity, the Liverpool Lads 2 p.m. performance is free and open to the public. No ticket is required.
The Marion Popcorn Festival will be held Sept. 5-7. Performances are free of charge. Main Stage performances start with an opening show by local bands at 6 p.m. and the headlining artists taking the stage at 8:30 p.m. following the opening ceremonies sponsorship recognition.
Harvest, a Neil Young Tribute, will perform Thursday. Country artist Dillon Carmichael takes the stage Friday and Southern rockers Jackyl close out the festival Saturday. A limited number of Kernel sponsorship seats are available for any of the evening Main Stage performances by calling 740-387-FEST.
Other events and activities include the Popcorn Parade on Thursday with over 300 units, a 5k run,the MOFAS Fine Arts show at Kin & Kilt, crafts and vendors, a corn hole tournament, the CommunityShowcase Stage, a new family area at Founders Park, the Poppin’ Party stage beer garden, and more.
