Local athlete brand advisor looks to future of college sports revenue sharing

AUGUSTA, Maine (WABI) – The NCAA and all 32 Division I conferences are expected to pay roughly $2.8 billion in damages to past and current student-athletes after the House vs. NCAA settlements.

This will pave the way to schools paying student-athletes moving forward.

Greg Glynn of Pliable Marketing out of Augusta gave his take on how this decision can affect the future of college sports.

“I think it’s going to force schools to decide on ‘what type of school are we? Are we a hockey school? Are we a basketball school? Are we a football school?’ If you do that, you can allocate a lot more resources, obviously, to that sport,” said Greg Glynn, Athlete Brand Advisor/CEO, Pliable Marketing.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds with revenue sharing like this.
