Local girl races at BMX World Championships

MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) – A local girl who found her passion in dirt bike racing made it to the BMX World Championships getting to ride as part of team USA.

Annabelle Anderson got to meet people as passionate about dirt bike racing as she was and race alongside them.

“It felt good because I made it somewhere I wanted to get to for a while,” Anderson said.

Anderson got into the sport after trying it out with her friends a little over two years ago and has been hooked ever since.

“You know, she sets her mind to it and just keeps working hard. We’ll say the sky’s the limit for her and continue to support her as far as she wants to go,” mom Ashley Anderson said.

Anderson didn’t qualify to go beyond the first event at the Championships, but she plans to keep practicing and do better next season.
