Logan-Rogersville School District students attempted to break another Guinness Book of World Records

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) — After months of planning, the Logan-Rogersville School District may soon hold a world record.

Students of all ages, from kindergarten through high school seniors, packed the football stadium this morning to play the world’s largest game of follow-the-leader. With more than 2,500 participants, organizers are confident they’ve broken the previous record of 768.

This isn’t the first time Logan-Rogersville has been in the Guinness Book of World Records. When this year’s seniors were kindergartners, they participated in the largest-ever game of duck duck goose.

“Why break it if we already have it,” said high school senior Stewart McDonald. “Let’s set another one. That’s where we tried to consider the younger kids and what they would understand.”

Another high school senior called it an accomplishment.

“We get to say that we broke two records,” said Emma Spurlin. “So it’s really fun. Not many people can say that.”

At this point, the results of the world-record attempt are unofficial. Organizers say the record will likely take several months to be certified.
