Looking for work? Marijuana job fair coming to Union County in May
Union College is holding a second Cannabis Job Fair, Opportunities in Cannabis Industry, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 9.
The fair will be held in the college’s Kellogg building at 40 West Grand St. in Elizabeth and is a collaborative effort between the Union County Board of Commissioners and the American Job Center. The fair will host employers looking to fill positions in the cannabis industry.
“The cannabis industry is vital for both recreational enjoyment and medical relief, meeting the diverse needs of many people,” Union County Commission Chairwoman Kimberly Palmieri-Mouded said.
“Embracing both aspects, the industry promotes holistic well-being, empowering individuals to lead healthier lives. We encourage anyone looking for employment opportunities to join us on May 9,” Palmieri-Mouded continued.

Since the first cannabis industry fair in 2023, Union County has gone from having two to 12 cannabis dispensaries, Commissioner Sergio Granados said.
“These dispensaries aren’t just places to buy cannabis – they are centers of employment,” Granados said. “By facilitating connections between job seekers and employers in this rapidly growing sector, we are … ensuring that Union County remains at the forefront of this emerging industry.”
