Lubbock business works to bring the gym to the community’s front doors
LUBBOCK, Texas – – A local business in Lubbock started to help people by bringing the gym to them. 2U Mobile Fitness was a van with all the gym equipment one could ever need or imagine, that gets driven right to the front door.
Co-owner Kristie Vasquez described how this business became a part of her life after she bought it from the original owner.
“I saw some equipment online for sale on Facebook Marketplace and I saw that he was selling the van,” Kristie Vasquez said. “I was like we could really make something with this.”
Kristie Vasquez’s husband and co-owner, John Vasquez, of the business, described what they have in the van.
“We got everything that you’ll have at any typical gym. We have battle ropes, dumbbells, sandbags, mats, just everything you can think of in the gym plus a little more because everything’s mobile. So we can move anything from the van,” John Vasquez said.
Both of the Vasquez’s believed that the mobile gym helped people who had gym anxiety.
“Being in the fitness community, we found, we’ve realized gym anxiety is very real. There’s a lot of people that don’t even go because they have so much anxiety,” Kristie Vasquez said.
Kristie Vasquez talked about how it made her feel to know she was helping people in more ways than one.
“To be able to have a platform to build help. People even more are even more inspiring because when you see changes people really get motivated, and they really dive in, and they get confident” Kristie Vasquez said.
