M4 MacBook Pro Display Shipments Said To Arrive On Schedule, Leading To Apple Officially Announcing The New Models In Q2 2024

Apple is not quite finished with hardware launches because apart from unveiling the iPhone 16 family next month, the company is reportedly preparing a release of several M4 MacBook Pro models. A previous report said that the new portable Macs would arrive in the fourth quarter, with a notable display analyst now stating that the 14-inch and 16-inch screens belonging to these machines will arrive on schedule.

Both 14-inch and 16-inch M4 MacBook Pro displays were expected to be delivered in either July or August

Founder and CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants Ross Young, put out a post on X for his subscribers, talking about the display shipment timings for the M4 MacBook Pro range. Given his legendary track record, it is difficult to refute that Apple’s newer models will launch in the fourth quarter because 14-inch and 16-inch mini-LED shipments were slated to happen in either July or August. This lines up with the company’s schedule of announcing the updated versions in October.

A separate report mentioned that Apple was developing the M4, M4 Pro, and the M4 Max for a release later this year, though there are other hardware launches that will be treated to these chipsets as well. For instance, a completely redesigned Mac mini is expected to materialize later this year, with its size said to be no bigger than a current-generation Apple TV. Unfortunately, none of the 14-inch or 16-inch M4 MacBook Pro are said to get a redesign, but according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the ones coming in 2025 will sport a new camera module.

Last year, Apple introduced an entry-level and two high-end versions of its MacBook Pro lineup that could be kitted out with an M3, M3 Pro, or an M3 Max, so it is likely that the company will stick to the same launch timeline, making it the shortest duration between updated Mac launches. Fortunately, the company’s M4 has thoroughly impressed in benchmarking tests, so it will be exciting to watch what the powerful variants of the Apple Silicon can achieve.
