Man arrested after allegedly breaking into lockers at Delhi Township Planet Fitness

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – A Marquette man was arrested Sunday after allegedly breaking into lockers and stealing personal items at a Planet Fitness in Delhi Township.

Deputies from the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Planet Fitness on Cedar Street on July 7 at 7:30 p.m. for a report of multiple locker thefts. Victims told police their locks were cut, and personal items were stolen. One of seven victims reported that their credit card had been used at a local business since the alleged theft.

When deputies responded to the area where the fraudulent transactions occurred, they found the suspect—a 41-year-old Marquette man—still possessing the alleged stolen property.

The Marquette man was lodged at the Ingham County Jail pending arraignment for several charges, including larceny in a building and illegal use of a financial transaction device.

“This is a great example of the benefit of closely monitoring your financial accounts,” said the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office in a press release. “The victim’s attention provided deputies with information that stopped this crime spree quickly.”
