Man arrested after shooting inside Iroquois neighborhood business leaves 1 dead, 1 injured

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A man is dead and another is in the hospital after a shooting in the Iroquois neighborhood Saturday evening, according to Louisville Metro police.

LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said just before 9 p.m. police were called to a business in the 4400 block of Taylor Boulevard. Officers found two men inside the business who had been shot. They were taken to UofL Hospital where one died a short time after arriving. The other is expected to survive.

One person was detained at the scene, and later officially arrested in connection to the double shooting. Gabe L. Lewis, 18, is charged with murder. According to a citation, detectives used surveillance footage and a statement from Lewis to make the arrest.

Lewis is expected in court Monday.
