Man shot to death in parking lot of Bessemer business

An investigation is underway after a man was shot to death in Bessemer.

The shooting happened at 3:45 p.m. Monday in the 5900 block of Greenwood Parkway.

The victim – an adult male – was taken to UAB Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Det. Justin Burmeister said the deadly shooting happened in the parking lot of an undisclosed business.

The investigation is in its early stages, but no arrests have been made, the detective said.

The victim is Bessemer’s 10th homicide this year.
