Man stabbed, business windows broken in downtown Lawrence early Tuesday

LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) – The Lawrence Police Department is investigating whether an early-morning stabbing is related to vandalism at two nearby businesses.

In a Facebook post, LPD said they were called to the area of E 9th Street and Massachusetts around 4:45 a.m. on Tuesday.

The caller said he was sleeping in an alley when he woke up to another man yelling that he had been stabbed. That man was taken to an area hospital and is expected to be ok.

Officers also found two businesses in the area with broken windows and are investigating whether that is related to the stabbing.

LPD is working to get a suspect description out and will release more information is the investigation continues.
