Marco’s Vapor permanently closes after a decade of business
CHERRY VALLEY, Ill. (WIFR) – Marco’s Vapor announced Monday that it will be permanently closing its doors July 1, 2024.
Shop owner Marco Altamore says the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has made it impossible to continue operating in America. The FDA authorizes three e-cigarette manufacturers to be sold in the United States: Logic Technology Development LLC, NJOY LLC, and R.J. Reynolds Vapor Company.
Altamore says the FDA has rejected millions of other vaping devices and liquids submitted by the vape industry, including Marco’s Vapor’s own brand Custom Clouds.
Although the shop is closing, Altamore still advocates for vaping. “Our goal is always to help stop smoking. My employees and staff have had people calling throughout the day asking, ‘I’ve been your customer for 10 years, where am I gonna continue getting my vape?’ because my customers will continue vaping because it works for them.”
