Mark Wahlberg’s 2am gym routine: Inside his extreme fitness schedule | The Express Tribune
Mark Wahlberg, 53, has taken his commitment to fitness to an extreme level, now hitting the gym at 2 a.m. on Sundays.
The actor, entrepreneur, and father of four recently showcased his rigorous early-morning routine in an Instagram video, highlighting exercises such as weighted calf raises, chest presses, and incline pushups.
Wahlberg, dressed in Municipal sportswear, which he co-founded in 2019, emphasizes his dedication with the post, “My week starts on Sunday 2 am .”
Chris Pruitt, CEO of WorkoutHealthy.com, notes that while Wahlberg’s 2 a.m. workouts might work for him, they aren’t suitable for everyone.
“Exercising at 2 a.m. can be beneficial for those with unconventional schedules,” Pruitt explains. “It ensures a quiet environment, fewer distractions, and a unique sense of discipline and accomplishment.
However, it’s essential to ensure you get enough sleep and recovery time.”
Wahlberg himself stresses the importance of sleep, maintaining an eight-hour nightly rest and balancing his demanding schedule with twice-daily gym visits.
In a recent Instagram update, Wahlberg clarified his schedule, saying, “What time do I go to bed? Eight hours. Eight hours of sleep, always. If I’m in the gym at 1, that means I went to bed at 5. OK? Do the math.”
He attributes his early workouts to his packed schedule, stating, “If we’ve got to leave at 4, I gotta get up at 1. I gotta get the s – – t done.”
Wahlberg’s commitment to fitness also includes a blend of spirituality, as he shares his daily routine involving prayer and gym time.
While early-morning workouts can boost metabolism and mood, Chris Pruitt advises that the best exercise time is when you feel most energetic and can stay consistent.
Research suggests that morning workouts improve energy levels and focus, but it’s crucial to find a sustainable workout schedule that fits individual lifestyles.
