Mary Cosby’s Best RHOSLC Fashion Looks

When fans first met Mary Cosby in Season 1 of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, it looked as if she had fallen into a child’s dress-up trunk. The pastor wore everything, including too many chunky bracelets, barrettes, and pearls. It seems she never heeded Chanel’s advice of taking one accessory off before leaving the house. But as the seasons progressed, so did Mary’s lookbook. And I dare say Season 5 is showing her in her fashion prime.

Mary Cosby’s Season 4 confessional look was divine

Mary’s Season 4 luxe confessional look said it all. The Brightside Rouleaux Puff-Sleeve Mini Dress by Zimmermann was the perfect church dress. It was brightly colored, as the name would hint at, with hues of pink and yellow. It was understated elegance that I think fit Mary perfectly. The dress was long-sleeved, perfect for the winter in Utah, and boasted royal, puffy-like sleeves.

The A-line shape flattered Mary’s tiny frame. And the scalloped detailing added a touch of class. At $1,850, it would set Mary back a pretty penny. However, it is currently on sale at Saks 5th Avenue for $575. But it is a dress that she could not only entertain in but use to preach to her congregation since it hit below the knees. It was apparent Mary loved her outfit choice as she once noted, “I can’t believe I wasted another outfit on this event. Where’s the food? What are we eating?”

Mary Cosby loves a good accessory

I can’t help but feel that Mary dresses just like Emily in Paris. And while I would look like an obvious fish out of the water, for some, the look works. Emily, the main character, is often harangued for her style, which makes no sense. It’s so left-field and garish between the colors, textures, pattern mixing, and styling. Mary wears wacky, colorful, and clearly bold statement pieces, which is why I think the Netflix character is a kindred spirit.

Mary tends to pick pieces that are cute individually but have the magic to pull an outfit together. Her gold chunky chain from Season 2 helped pull together her blazer look. Mary has always been known to rock a pair of oversized sunglasses or a gorgeous silk scarf. But just because she likes an accessory doesn’t mean she approves of all items. Mary once scolded Heather Gay for choosing to wear an extra chunky diamond necklace. To the mortal eye, it looked all right. But Mary quickly told her frenemy, “You totally missed it on that one.”

You could get lost in Mary Cosby’s closest

As Real Housewives of Salt Lake City fans know, it would be easy to get lost in Mary’s large closet. While I thought she might have a hoarding problem, Mary’s Season 5 outfits are stepping up. Perhaps my favorite is Mary’s red metallic confessional look. I have to be honest…I would wear this dress. And it seems like other Real Housewives agree with her fashion choice since she twinned with Caroline Stanbury on a recent Watch What Happens Live appearance. But I have to note that Mary wore it better

Mary blew our socks off with the Ferragamo Long Sleeve Bodycon dress. At the time, the dress would have set Mary back $3,300. But I think it was worth the splurge. Along with the dress, Mary wore her hair long and paired it with matching earrings. Everything about this dress screams, “I’m rich b*tch!” As the first look of the new season, Mary couldn’t help but set a massive precedent for her future outfit choices.

Mary Cosby also has a relatable style

I like to feel comfy and cozy in my clothes. So when I spotted Mary wearing a blue silk top, I was thrilled with her choice. The baby blue color just brought out Mary’s warmth and made her skin shine. I immediately started to Google the item, which was by LaPointe. Mary no longer has the worst fashion sense. However, even though the style was relatable, the price tag sure wasn’t. At $850, I hope Mary gets multiple wears out of it, even if it is dry-clean only. The shirt was chic and an item she could dress up or dress down. Mary’s fashion choices have come a long way since Season 1. And dare I say, I wish I could raid Mary’s closet for those few unique pieces.
