Maryland ranks 33rd on list of most gambling-addicted states

On a list of the most gambling-addicted states in the U.S., Maryland does not seem to be wagering as much as other states.

Maryland ranked 33rd on a list of the most gambling-addicted states in the U.S. according to a list from WalletHub, a personal finance website.

WalletHub compared all 50 states across 20 key metrics. The data set ranges from the presence of illegal gambling operations to lottery sales per capita to the share of adults with gambling disorders.

The most gambling-addicted states are Nevada, South Dakota, Montana, Louisiana and Pennsylvania.

The five least gambling-addicted states are Maine, Nebraska, Vermont, Alaska and Utah.
