Massive Sony Xperia 1 VI Leak Sheds Light on Phone’s Cameras, Battery, and the Chipset Under the Hood
It is that time of the year again when Sony is gearing up to reveal its flagship phone, and this year, we are going to get the Sony Xperia 1 VI. Naming scheme aside, Sony knows how to make some really robust smartphones. If you have been waiting for the phone to come out, you are not going to have to wait longer as the phone is going official on May 17th. Today we have a massive leak that shows everything that you need to know about the upcoming flagship.
The Sony Xperia 1 VI looks like the flagship to buy for those who want the best experience
The most obvious fact is that the Sony Xperia 1 VI is going to be running on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, something that we already knew about. In addition to that, the phone is also going to bring a 16mm ultra-wide camera, a 24mm primary sensor, and an 85-170mm telephoto zoom camera. Needless to say, the whole camera setup is unapologetically Sony, and considering the company’s decades of experience in cameras, we are going to get some really good photography out of this phone.
The hardware is not really something that Sony is going to be focusing on this year with the Sony Xperia 1 VI. However, the company has made sure that there is enough emphasis on the software, so if that is something that you have been looking for, this is the phone you should be picking up.
The new phone is going to get a single camera app that is inspired by the company Alpha lineup of cameras. The app will also come with something called “human pose detection technology” straight out of the Alpha cameras that will let you get the right focus every time, even when the subjects are facing away or have their faces hidden away from the camera. Sony will also include a new Video Creator app, giving complete control to users who are looking for a better video-making experience.
Sony knows what the users are looking for is a good phone, and that is why the Sony Xperia 1 VI is going to retain the 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone is also going to feature improved speakers, and you are going to get textured glass on the back, which has made its way to the mainstream as almost all the companies are using frosted glass for their flagships. As far as the colors are concerned, the phone will be available in black and platinum silver colorways; these colors are also the same as those used by Sony for its headphones.
On the front, the Sony Xperia 1 VI is going to feature an OLED panel with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The screen is said to be brighter than the one found in its predecessor, and it will be an LTPO panel, going from 1Hz to 120Hz. In addition to that, you will also get a 240Hz touch sampling rate. Powering the phone is going to be a 5,000 mAh battery, wireless charging, reverse wireless charging, and more.
The phone is going official on May 17th and should be costing well over $1,000. I hope Sony unveils the WH-1000XM6 as well, but take that with a grain of salt, as that is not a confirmed statement, and it might not happen.
