Northwest Mississippi Community College’s Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society inducted six new members at its annual induction ceremony on April 18 at the Math and Science Building on the Senatobia campus.

Among those inducted this semester was Kristian Calvin Rogers of Vacaville. To qualify for the honor, students must show excellence in math such as a 3.0 or higher GPA in college algebra or higher-level mathematics courses if a student wasn’t a Mu Alpha Theta member in high school.

“Mu Alpha Theta is a national honor society for students who have excelled in their math courses,” said Jennifer Jones, instructor of Mathematics at Northwest. “Students must meet the academic qualifications for induction into Mu Alpha Theta. Each of our 2024 initiates are dedicated to their academic studies and are very deserving of this honor. I have enjoyed getting to know these students and wish them success in the future.”
