Mayfield business discovers $35,000 worth of fraudulent HVAC purchases by same suspect
MAYFIELD, Ohio – A Beta Drive appliance business reported Oct. 4 that they had discovered five fraudulent purchases had been made with the business, totaling over $35,000.
They learned of the matter when contacted by a North Carolina man, who said that he had a fraudulent charge on his credit card for an HVAC system. While investigating that fraudulent purchase, the business discovered four more charges made in the same name of the disputed charge.
Surveillance photos of the person picking up the orders were obtained, and the matter is under investigation.
