Mayville Engineering to close Wautoma facility, 43 jobs to be cut

WAUTOMA (WLUK) – Mayville Engineering is closing its Wautoma facility, putting 43 people out of work, according to a notice filed with the state.

“This closure is expected to affect the entire facility and to be permanent,” wrote David Higgs, vice president of operations, in a Sept. 12 letter.

Of those positions, 26 will be eliminated as of Nov. 16, while another 16 on Nov. 22. A production manager’s last day is Jan. 31, the notice states.

The company’s website describes it this way: “Founded in 1945, we are proud to be a leading U.S.-based value-added provider, providing a broad range of prototyping and tooling, production fabrication, coating, assembly and aftermarket services.”
