MCAS Cherry Point to break ground on new fitness center project
A groundbreaking event to replace an old building with a state-of-the-art fitness facility is set take place later this week.
Officials say MCAS Cherry Point, and the Whiting-Turner Contracting Company will officially break ground on the $57.7 million P658 Fitness Center and Training Pool project on Friday, October 25 at 10:00 a.m.
This project was awarded on August 1, 2024, and will replace the current 13,260 square-foot gym that has served as converted warehouse and temporary facility since the late 1990’s.
According to officials, this new facility will help contribute to boosting the overall morale and well-being for Marines and Sailors across the installation.
