Medic: 1 hurt after car flips near busy south Charlotte shopping center

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – A person was seriously hurt after a car flipped on its side near a busy south Charlotte shopping center on Wednesday morning.

The crash happened around 1 a.m. along Golf Links Drive, just off Providence Road near the Waverly shopping center.

Video from the scene appears to show that the car, a white BMW, veered off the road before crashing and landing on its side. Damage to a nearby guardrail was also spotted.

No other vehicles seemed to have been involved.

Medic said the person was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

It is unclear what exactly caused the crash.
