Planet Fitness is adjusting its hours for one day this upcoming week

Memorial Day is celebrated to honor those who have died in the US Armed Forces.

It’s also a big day to bust out the grill for a barbeque.

Despite what you’re planning for the holiday, you might want to stick to your normal routine.

Though Planet Fitness is remaining open on Memorial Day, some fitness fiends should note they might have to make other arrangements.

Hours are subject to vary per location, several Planet Fitness spokespeople told The U.S. Sun.

Gymgoers can still enjoy their Memorial Day workout on Monday, May 27, but they must check with their local Planet Fitness before planning to make the trip.

A representative at Planet Fitness in Queens, New York told the U.S. Sun that the gym plans to open at its usual 5 am time.

But, it will close at 1 pm instead of 11 pm on account of the holiday.

And it’s business as usual for a 24-hour Planet Fitness in Bakersfield, California.

A representative from the location told The U.S. Sun it plans to stay open all day, with no hour adjustments.

Sam’s Club and Retailers Adjust Hours for Memorial Day

Meanwhile, a Planet Fitness located east of Tampa, Florida is slated to open at 7 am and close by 1 pm on the holiday.

Planet Fitness is typically open 24 hours during the week and from 7 am to 7 pm on the weekends.

Though it’s unlikely Planet Fitness will be closed on Memorial Day, its members should check the hours of their local gym before making the trek this upcoming Monday.

MORE MEMORIAL DAY ADJUSTMENTS

Those with a Costco card should plan to shop on Sunday for their upcoming party.

The store, like several others, is shuttering its doors for the holiday.

Planet Fitness Membership Price Change

For the first time, the company confirmed it’s increasing its membership prices

Classic Card members will have to pay $5 more starting this summer — from $10 to $15 per month.

Those with the higher-level Black Card at $24.99 monthly could also see an increase, with “price testing” to come.

The difference:

Classic Card members are only allowed to go to the location they have their subscription for and cannot bring a guest.

Meanwhile, Black Card members can bring a guest and have access to any Planet Fitness.

Planet Fitness CEO said the increase is necessary to account for inflation which would make the $10 membership from 1998 about $20 today.

Target and Kroger will remain open, but on adjusted hours.

Sam’s Club will also remain open on Memorial Day this year, but there will be hour changes to its schedule.

The warehouse club will close two hours early at 6 pm rather than 8 to give employees time to enjoy the holiday.

Postal services are also affected.

FedEx will close many locations, while others will operate with reduced hours.

All UPS locations will be closed.

A popular mall chain has announced it will alter its hours for Memorial Day.

If you’re traveling this weekend airlines are warning you to expect chaos.
