Mercer County native dream comes with opening their first business
PRINCETON, W.Va. (WVVA) – A new business is opening its doors to the public as of Friday.
Travis Collins Designs held a ribbon cutting event to celebrate opening a home decor business. Travis Collins, the owner of the store, had previously worked an online store. After 18 years of waiting, had finally decided to transition from the digital world to owning his very own physical brick and mortar business. The store has a little bit of everything: from furniture and jewelry to candles. They even have Christmas decorations, something Collins wanted to make sure they had as he is a Christmas enthesitis.
Collins says that he didn’t want to be limited in what to serve the community and says he decided to step outside of the norm and bring something unique to the area.
“I wanted to be very different, I want to be the go-to location for when people want to do gifts or anything fun like that.” Collins said. “I kind of wanted to have just different items, different gift wares that other people don’t have and just try to bring something different to the area.”
The store can also take on special orders. To see a list of what they have to offer, you can go online to their website here to see what they have.
Store hours are Tuesday through Friday,10am to 6pm and Saturday, 10am to 3pm. They are located on Thorn St, Princeton.
