Michigan football has long been one of the top programs in college football when it comes to the use of tight ends in the offense and that’s not changing anytime soon. And given that four-star Andrew Olesh flipped to Penn State two days after early signing day. the Wolverines have a need.
The last truly elite tight end Michigan has had came from Gooding, Idaho, as four-star Colston Loveland thrived in Ann Arbor. The maize and blue are looking to the same region for yet another. Hailing from Billings (Mont.) West, 2026 four-star tight end Matt Ludwig already had the Wolverines in his top group. And though Nebraska has a 247Sports Crystal Ball indicating he’ll choose the Cornhuskers, On3 VP Steve Wiltfong put in a prediction that he’ll end up choosing Michigan football.
