Albatross leads to hole-in-one for Offenberger
Logan Offenberger from Marietta shot his first hole-in-one when he recorded an albatross on the 267-yard, ninth hole at Pioneer Golf Club last month in Marietta as part of the Knight of Columbus League. Offenberger used a driver.
His witnesses included Lance Miller, Albert Deskins and Dave Gerst.

Marietta High School Athletic Hall of Fame
The Marietta High School Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on Saturday, Sept. 28 at the Lafayette Hotel.
This year’s class includes Tom Baker (1960), Jerry Brock (coach), Shawna Daugherty (1995), Scott Strahler (1998), Bill Ross Jr. (1979), and the late William Whetsell (1963). The inductees will also be recognized during the home varsity football game on Friday, Sept. 27.

Tickets for the event, which includes a buffet dinner, are $40 each. Table sponsorships, which include up to eight tickets, are also available for $300 each.

Mid-Ohio Valley Tennis Association Fundraiser on Thursday
The Mid-Ohio Valley Tennis Association (MOVTA) will be holding a fundraiser at Texas Roadhouse on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
Those attending can take a picture of the flyer from the MOVTA website at www.movtatennis.com or the MOVTA Facebook page. Take a picture of the flyer in the display case at the City Park tennis courts until Sept. 26, then show the picture at the restaurant. Texas Roadhouse will donate 10% of the total food purchases to the Mid-Ohio Valley Tennis Association. The money will be used to help with area junior and adult tennis programs.
