Wirt County Sideliners Golf Scramble

The Wirt County Sideliners and the Wirt County High School football team will be holding their annual golf scramble on June 1 at Mingo Bottom golf course.

Tee times will start at 9 a.m., $200 per team, there will be cash prizes for first, $400, second, $200 and third place, $100, 50/50 and closest-to-the-pin prizes. We also have a $5,000 hole in one prize on #10 Par 3 hole and some very nice prizes for a hole in one on all other par 3 holes. Food and drinks will be provided. Please pre register if possible.

MOVTA To Hold Monthly Meeting

The Mid-Ohio Valley Tennis Association (MOVTA) will hold their monthly meeting on Monday, May 13, at 6 p.m. at Panera Bread. We will be going over the updated plans for spring and summer activities. Anyone interested in area tennis are invited to attend.

MOVTA Spring Fling Tennis Tournament

The 2024 MOVTA Spring Fling Tennis Tournament will be held May 18-19. Play may begin as early as Saturday, May 18 at 9 a.m.

Playing times will be available by calling Mike Politz at 304-588-0809 after 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 16.

The location is Jackson Park tennis courts in Vienna. The format is round-robin play in approximate two-hour time blocks. Match format will vary based on number of players in each age group/event. Players may play in multiple events.

The events are 10-14 boys singles, girls singles and doubles/15-18 boys singles, girls singles and doubles/ and Mixed Doubles. All singles events are $15 and all doubles events are $15 per individual, per event ( ie., $30 per team). Entry forms must be received and/or postmarked by Tuesday, May 14th in order to register for the tournament. Mail entries and payment to: MOVTA, P.O. Box 5183, Vienna, WV 26105. Photos or scans of entries may also be emailed to movtaovta@gmail.com with fees paid at the tournament. Entry form is on the Mid Ohio Valley Tennis Association Facebook page and forms are at the Wood County Rec Office in the City Park.
