Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher won’t return for ‘That ’90s Show’ season 2
Well damn, Jackie.
Mila Kunis shut down the possibility of returning to season 2 of That ’70s Show spin-off That ’90s Show alongside husband Ashton Kutcher. The two reprised their roles of Jackie Burkhart and Michael Kelso, respectively, for one episode in the debut season — and Kunis felt it was enough to make way for the new generation of characters, including Jackie and Kelso’s son Jay (played by Mace Coronel).
“Can we expect you and Ashton to pop up again?” Entertainment Tonight asked Kunis, who was joined by former costar Seth Green, at Paleyfest’s 25th anniversary Family Guy celebration over the weekend.
“No,” Kunis said. “I mean, we did our thing and they introduced our son in the show.”
But it appears Green is making a return to Point Place. He said he would be reprising his role of Mitch Miller, a classmate and nemesis of Topher Grace‘s Eric Forman who appeared throughout seasons 5 and 6. “I’ve already done an episode of it, and I’m going back to do another one,” Green said.
The original ’70s-set sitcom, which ran for eight seasons between 1998 and 2006, chronicled the growing pains of an eclectic group of friends (played by Kunis, Kutcher, Grace, Laura Prepon, Wilmer Valderrama, and the embattled Danny Masterson) in the suburbs of Wisconsin. The 1995-set spin-off follows Leia Forman (daughter of Grace and Prepon’s characters, played by Callie Haverda) and the new generation of pals she makes while visiting her grandparents Red and Kitty (returning cast members Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp) for the summer.
Kunis and Kutcher met on set of the original sitcom as teens but did not begin dating until 2012. They married in 2015 and share two children together. With the exception of Masterson, who is serving time in prison after he was convicted of raping two women in 2023, all of the core stars have appeared in the spin-off.
