Minot High scored first on Friday, October 25, against Bismarck Century on their home turf. Senior Kellan Burke ran the ball into the endzone in the second half of the first quarter, scoring the first touchdown of the game, making it 7-0 Minot High.

With four minutes left in the first quarter, sophomore Tariq Bell scored the second touchdown, giving Minot a 14-0 lead. With 39 seconds left, Legacy scored next making it a 14-7 game going into the second quarter.

Halfway through the second quarter Minot High scored again extending their lead to 21-7. Minot High did not stop there with two minutes left in the first half senior Noah Bledsoe scored a touchdown leaving the score 27-7 at the end of the half.

After halftime, Minot High came out scoring another touchdown in the third quarter leading 34-7. Minot High continued to play great defense throughout the third quarter not allowing Century to score again. With eight minutes left in the fourth quarter, Minot High made a field goal pushing the score to 37-7.

Century scored one last touchdown in the fourth quarter dropping Minot’s lead to 37-14. The final score was 37-14 Minot High.

Minot High is now 4-0 in their conference, Legacy is 1-3.

As the top seed in the Western Dakota Association (WDA) standings, Minot High will play their next game against West Fargo, the fourth seed from the eas, on Friday, November 1 at home in the opening round of the postseason.

WF Sheyenne 26,

West Fargo 8

The second ranked team in the Class AAA traveled to West Fargo and led 13-0 at the half on the way to the shutout of the home team. West Fargo Sheyenne are poised for the postseason and one of only two teams to have beaten the top ranked Magicians.

As the top seed in the east, WF Sheyenne will host Bismarck Legacy, the fourth seed from the WDA on Friday.

Fargo Davies 49,

Shanley 14

The third ranked team in Class AAA traveled to Fargo Davies and left the host team behind with a 42-0 halftime lead that turned into the one sided win for Fargo Davies. The only other team to have beaten the top ranked Minot High was Fargo Davies.

As the second seed from the east, Fargo Davies will host the WDA third seed, Mandan in the opening round of the postseason on Friday, November 1.

Bismarck High 33, Mandan 29

The fourth ranked Demons hosted the fifth ranked Braves in a battle for the WDA second seed for next week. Bismarck led early with a 26-7 lead halfway through the second quarter of play. Mandan cut into the lead, but the home team held a 26-14 lead going into the third quarter of play.

Mandan scored twice in the third quarter to take the 29-26 lead and looked to be heading for the upset. With just under four minutes in the game, Bismarck High scored to take the 33-29 lead and the home field win.

As the WDA second seed, Bismarck High will host the third seed from the east, Shanley, while the Braves will travel to Fargo Davies in round one of the postseason play.
