Minot North Sentinels fall to Bismarck Legacy Sabers at home

The Bismarck Legacy Sabers (2-1-1) made the trip to Minot to face the Sentinels on Minot North’s (0-3, 0-5) home turf. The Sabers scored in the first minute of the game enroute to the 10-0 win in Minot.

Legacy would score six goals in the first half. Kamden Kooiman scored the first goal and added two more for three of the six. Kellen Okerson, Riley Ketterling and Ryker Zietz were the other three with scores.

In the second half, Eduard Abramciuc scored three of the four goals. Carson Riehl tacked on the fourth goal.

Sentinels sophomore Griffin Wald had eight saves in the game while in the net. Seventh grader Brantley Robinson had four saves in relief. The Legacy goalies finished the game with no shots on goal.

In Western Dakota Conference (WDA) play, Logan Ovitt has two points on two goals for the Sentinels. Opponents have scored 11 goals in the first half and 10 in the second for a 21-2 goal difference. Wald has faced 46 shots on goal and recorded 29 saves. Robinson has faced eight shots and saved four of them.

In the two non-conference games Minot North has been outscored 22-3 with Ovitt scoring two of the three goals with eighth grader Gavin Wald on the third.

Minot North plays host to Bismarck High on Tuesday, August 27, while Legacy will be at Minot High the same day.
