Missouri Jobs with Justice (MOJWJ) has taken on Missouri Health Care for All (MHCFA) as a project under its organizational umbrella. The move ensures the continuation of MHCFA’s vital mission to advocate for equitable health care access across the state of Missouri.

“Health care as a right has been a core value of Missouri Jobs with Justice since our founding in 1999,” said Caitlyn Adams, executive director of Missouri Jobs with Justice. “The incorporation of Missouri Health Care for All underscores our dedication to building a Missouri where we can all thrive, no matter our race, zip code or income. We are honored to take on Missouri Health Care for All as a powerful project.”

Over the years, MHCFA and MOJWJ have played pivotal roles in expanding Medicaid, defending the Affordable Care Act and advocacy in the state legislature. Despite recent challenges leading to its cessation in 2023, MOJWJ recognizes the importance of preserving MHCFA’s legacy and continuing its impactful work.

“Missouri Health Care for All was a leader in defending Medicaid, lifting up health care as a human right, and bringing Missourians’ voices together,” Adams said. “We will carry on the legacy of Missouri Health Care for All in their fight for the full-range of health care services for all Missourians.”

Sara Flores turned to Missouri Jobs with Justice when Blue Cross Blue Shield stuck her with a $13,000 bill.

“Missouri Jobs with Justice came together to support my family,” said Flores. “I felt completely supported knowing someone could help me fight back against this gigantic corporation. It’s been a huge relief to have this $13,000 bill reversed, but the whole experience has opened my eyes. It’s a real testament to how many people are being exploited by health care corporations and made to feel like they’re alone. I am proud to be a member of MOJWJ and our shared fight for health care for all.”

Current health care projects include Care Over Cost and The Right Time initiative, addressing Medicaid Unwinding and legislative advocacy. Learn more about Missouri Health Care for All and current Missouri Jobs with Justice campaigns at https://mojwj.org/missouri-health-care-for-all.
