Coming off a weekend sweep at the hands of Tennessee, Mizzou baseball returned home on Tuesday to take on Lindenwood. The Tigers needed just seven innings to get the win, beating Lindenwood 13-1 to complete the season sweep.

Javyn Pimental got the start on the mound for Mizzou, firing a scoreless first inning before giving way to Kaden Jacobi  who went the next three innings and allowed just one run in the process.

The Tigers’ offense got going early, with Justin Colon driving in Danny Corona to make it 1-0 Mizzou in the first inning.

With the game tied at one in the fourth, Mizzou got the offense going in a big way. The inning began with Jackson Beaman hitting a solo homer to put the Tigers back up by a run. Moments later freshman Jack Holubowski hit a single for his first career hit.

The flood gates opened from there as Mizzou would send 12 men to the plate and score nine runs in the inning. Brock Daniels, Jackson Lovich, and Colon all had RBI singles, and Corona added an RBI double to score two more. The big blow in the inning came when Matt Garcia  hit a three-run homer to make it 10-1 Mizzou.

From there the Tigers were in cruise control. Victor Quinn, Ben Pederson, and Xavier Lovett combined to pitch the final three innings without allowing a run. Meanwhile, three more runs from the offense in the sixth inning meant run-rule territory, as Mizzou then won 13-1 in seven innings.

The win marks the Tigers’ 20th of the year. First year Head Coach Kerrick Jackson has also helped guide the team to a 13-10 record at home.

Next up for Mizzou is a weekend series at home against South Carolina. The first game of the series begins on Friday night at 6:00 p.m.
