MLB playoff scores, live updates: Mets vs. Phillies, Padres vs. Dodgers are NLDS Game 2s

The National League Division Series resume on Sunday, with the Phillies looking to even their series with the Mets and the Padres aiming to tie their series with the Dodgers. In Saturday’s Game 1s, Shohei Ohtani did Shohei Ohtani things in his postseason debut to lead the Dodgers to a 7-5 win, while the Mets made a late surge against the Phillies bullpen to take a 6-2 win.

The two ALDS matchups will resume Monday, after the Yankees took a 1-0 lead against the Royals and the Guardians came out hot against the Tigers. Stay with Yahoo Sports on Sunday for live updates, highlights and more from the day’s MLB postseason action.

    Cue the “Yakety Sax” music for this third-inning sequence.

    Kyle Schwarber flew out to right field, and Starling Marte attempted to double off Johan Rojas getting back to first base. But an errant throw allowed Rojas to get to second. He advanced to third on a stolen base but was stranded when Trea Turner struck out.

    We’re on to the fourth inning with the Mets leading 2–0.

    The Mets strike first with two runs in the third inning. Francisco Lindor gets a one-out single, and Mark Vientos follows with a long fly ball over the right-field fence for a 2–0 Mets lead.

    Luis Severino throws a 1-2-3 second inning, striking out Bryson Stott and J.T. Realmuto before getting Brandon Marsh to pop out in foul territory.

    Trea Turner hits a one-out single for the Phillies, then steals second and third base. But Luis Severino strikes out Bryce Harper looking and gets Nick Castellanos to line out to first base, ending the first inning.

    Mark Vientos hits a 1-out double for the Mets and advances to third base on a flyout from Brandon Nimmo. But Christopher Sanchez gets Pete Alonso to fly out to center field to end the top of the 1st inning.
