MLB Playoffs 2024: Dates, Schedule, TV Coverage Revealed for World Series Bracket

The MLB announced a tentative schedule for the 2024 postseason and World Series on Thursday.

The wild card series are set to begin on Oct. 1, the division series on Oct. 5, the league championship series on Oct. 13 and the World Series on Oct. 25.

If the NLCS and ALCS both last for fewer than five games, however, the World Series start date could be bumped up as early as Oct. 22.

The tentative postseason schedule is below, per MLB.com’s Jason Foster, with asterisks beside games that will only be played if necessary.

The World Series schedule is subject to change if both league championships end before Oct. 19.

This marks the first time in MLB history that the league has proposed a World Series schedule subject to mid-postseason change, per USA Today’s Bob Nightengale.

If the World Series is moved up, the potential Game 7 would move up to Wednesday, Oct. 30.

The 2025 MLB regular season schedule can be found here. The season will begin March 18 with a game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs in Tokyo, Japan.
