Mom says traveling with babies or toddlers is just ‘horrible,’ sparking debate: ‘A nightmare’

Traveling with their parents can be a crucial experience for children. However, babies and toddlers make the whole experience a lot more challenging for some parents. Mom Kelsey P, who goes by @kelsey_p90 on TikTok, has expressed in a clip that she never wants to go on a trip or vacation with her little kids. Her opinion was met with mixed responses, sparking a debate in the comments section of her video. She captioned the post, “Signed a mom going on a 7-hour-long travel day with two separate flights tomorrow with her small kids.”

As the video began, Kelsey said, “You know those TikToks and Instagram reels of parents with their small baby, and they’re like, ‘Don’t let them stop you from seeing the world! Take them with you! Travel!'” She simply added, “F*** that” while laughing. “I am just here to remind you that traveling with small children is indeed horrible!” She kept laughing as she continued, “It is! There’s not one part of it I enjoy other than arriving at my destination, but everything in between — the pits, for the birds — and this is for like, ages like three and under.”

The mom admitted that the second the kid gets on an iPad things get better and proceeded to make a chef’s kiss sign. “Hashtag iPad kid,” the mom joked. “But before that, holy sh**,” the mom sighed. Kelsey mocked people who respond to her clips with comments like “Don’t say that” or “You’re scaring me”: “Oh, shut up!”

“Look at your little baby — 12 to 18 months old. Now imagine that on an airplane for many hours where you’re trying to just shush that. They won’t nap. They will stuff soggy crackers in your mouth for hours on end. They won’t sit still! I’m not saying don’t do it. Just know it’s horrible. That’s all,” the mom explained. The video received more than 112k views and over 8k likes. Many chimed in with similar experiences while others explained why they love traveling with their kids. 

@justyourbasiccatlady wrote, “I traveled 9 hours with my 18-month-old on Thursday. My life flashed before my eyes several times.” @qveenska commented, “I feel the opposite. I have been traveling with our baby since she was 1.5 months and I love it every time. She’s almost 3 and we travel internationally twice a year.” @treeeflower remarked, “Traveling with my child was always a pleasure. Children learn how to act from their home environment.” 

@thebeekeepcouple shared, “What? I love traveling with my kids. Of course, I’m not going to somewhere awesome like Hawaii with them lol.” @mam2boys2015 expressed, “I love traveling with my kids! I’d rather be anywhere else but here with my kids and hubby – preferably at a beach with a margarita in my hand! The plane ride is worth it!” @nickname987 revealed, “We only have one child, but we’ve flown from California to London, and Hawaii and Florida. She does great. It’s not relaxing, but we have no issues.”
