Mom wins k Boscov’s shopping spree

PALMER TWP., Pa. — One lucky Lehigh Valley mom won a $10,000 shopping spree at Boscov’s. She’s a regular shopper at the Palmer Park Mall location.

It’s retail therapy taken to the next level.

“I’m delighted to announce that you’re the winner of a $10,000 home shopping spree,” said Jim Boscov, chairman and CEO of Boscov’s.

Ro Miller of Bangor is the lucky winner of the Boscov’s contest, and she’s sharing the prize with her daughters Casey and Katelyn.

“Katelyn recently got married in April right? Moved into a new house,” said Boscov.

“This past Sunday,” said Ro Miller.

Ro Miller entered the competition on one of her routine trips to the store back in August. She was shocked when a letter came in the mail saying she won.

“I really didn’t believe it was true,” said Ro Miller.

“There were thousands of people who entered from all 50 stores in nine states, and to be the winner, I’m just tickled pink that it’s right here in Palmer Park with folks who have been longtime Boscov’s shoppers, who have a Boscov’s charge account,” said Boscov.

The shopping happened in spurts, starting a few weeks ago. First on the list was a good mattress for husband Glenn Miller.

“Oh, perfect,” said Glenn Miller as he tested out a Tempur-Pedic.

Next up was a recliner.

“We picked this out,” said Ro Miller.

The couple got a Christmas tree, too.

“Isn’t that pretty? That’ll be in our rec room,” said Ro Miller.

Then the rest went to the Miller’s daughters.

“This is the table,” said Ro Miller.

They got some household items for Casey and a living room set for Katelyn.

“You are the paradigm of good parents,” said Boscov.

“Seems like this really came at the perfect time,” said 69 News Reporter Priscilla Liguori.

“Especially for her,” Ro Miller said about her daughter Katelyn. “The timing was great…I just feel so good.”

Making your kids happy is priceless.

“Boscov’s!” Miller said with joy as she loaded things into her car.

This was the first $10,000 home makeover shopping spree, but Mr. Boscov says it won’t be the last, so keep your eye out next time you shop at your local store.
