Monumental Sports & Entertainment unveils United Airlines club at Capital One Arena

MSE

Monumental Sports & Entertainment and United Airlines are unveiling this morning the United Globe Club and Lounge, part of the $800M renovation of D.C.’s Capital One Arena. The multi-level, 24,000-square-foot United Globe Club and Lounge will open in the fall of 2025 and follows MSE announcing United as its Official Global Airline Partner in October. That was a first-of-its-kind designation within MSE’s sponsor portfolio — offering integration opportunities across the venue, MSE’s teams, and the Monumental Sports Network — that also made the airline the first Founding Partner in the transformation of the arena, expected to be completed by the 2027-28 NBA and NHL seasons.

“It’s targeting for us the most premium VIP seat holders we have,” said MSE Chief Commercial Officer Jim Van Stone. “We couldn’t be happier about doing this partnership with the team at United. If you’ve experienced any of their clubs around the world, they have a first-class experience mindset.”

The new United entitled premium space — designed by Gensler and built by Clark Construction, with project management by CAA Icon — will (by 2026) have its own entrance on the 6th Street side of the arena, a VIP Welcome Lobby with a dedicated concierge service team and will connect to the seating bowl via the event level or main concourse.

The United Globe Club will be 30% larger than any hospitality space in the current arena, offering more than 16 square feet of space per guest at full capacity, with capacity for more than 800 guests. The club features exclusive space for guests across two levels and provides access to dynamic food and beverage experiences, including show kitchens and celebrity chef experiences, as well as complimentary beer, wine and soft drinks for all Capitals and Wizards VIP seat holders.

The United Globe Lounge will be accessible to just 150 guests per event, including Wizards courtside seat-holders and Capitals fans with seats on the glass. The lounge will provide what MSE claims will be one of the most spacious, luxurious premium hospitality experiences in any arena nationwide.

“The experience we have had in thinking about the premium experience at the airline has really put clubs and lounges at or at least close to the top of the list,” said United EVP/Communications and Advertising Josh Earnest. “It is the kind of thing that we know our premium customers really value, some space that feels like your own.”
