‘Motivated’ Lubbock teens start summer landscaping business

LUBBOCK, Texas– Debrice Britt Jr. and Jaymez Clark Jr. are teenagers who’ve made it their mission to beautify Lubbock one yard at a time this summer. The teenage cousins started their business, Young Boy Lawn Services, and are actively looking to build their clientele.

The boys, 15 and 13 years old, started cutting the yards of their family members and eventually realized they could make money doing this.

“They would get together and through the Dunbar asking people if they needed their yard cuts, and he would do it cheap,” one of the boys’ family members said.

After a while, the duo started adding more staff to the business and went viral doing it. The Guadalupe Parkway Sommerville Centers posted Young Boy Lawn Services on social media on Tuesday morning, praising the group for cutting the center’s grass.

“Now, they’re in the process of growing a professional business,” the boys’ family said. Other kids are asking and wanting to work with them. As the business grows, [they] will be looking to hire anyone who’s willing to work.”
