Mountaineers Travel North for Wisconsin Pre Nationals – West Virginia University Athletics
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University cross country team will head to the Wisconsin Pre Nationals meet on Oct. 19, in Madison, Wisconsin. Saturday’s 6k is slated to begin at 11 a.m. ET, at the Zimmer Championship Course.

West Virginia will place seven student athletes on the line, including senior Ceili McCabe and freshman Joy Naukot. The duo claimed first and fourth place in the women’s 5k at the Live in Lou Classic on Oct. 5, respectively.
Last time out, the Mountaineers competed at the Carnegie Melon Invitational on Oct. 12, claiming second place in the women’s 5k. WVU was led by redshirt freshman Mary Delaney, who crossed the finish line in fourth place with a time of 19:18.8.
West Virginia was tabbed No. 28 in the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Poll on Oct. 8, after the team’s performance at the Live in Lou Classic on Oct. 5. Additionally, the squad was picked fourth in the USTFCCCA Mid-Atlantic regional rankings, behind No. 1 Georgetown, No. 2 Penn State and No. 3 Villanova.
