Mountaineers Travel to Louisville for Live in Lou Classic – West Virginia University Athletics

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University cross country team returns to competition for the Live in Lou Classic on Oct. 5 in Louisville, Kentucky. The women’s 5k is slated to start at 10:15 a.m. ET, at the E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park.

Saturday’s race can be viewed live on Flo Track, while live results are available at WVUsports.com.

2024 marks the 23rd annual Live in Lou Classic, hosted by the Louisville Sports Commission. The race will feature over 70 collegiate women’s team, while eleven Mountaineers are set to take on the course.

The Mountaineers last competed at the Spiked Shoe and RMU Colonial Invitationals on Sept. 13 and 14, respectively.

Sophomore Eva Rinker highlighted the Spiked Shoe Invitational for the Mountaineers, as she finished with a personal best time of 23:07.9 in the women’s 6k. Additionally, graduate student Madison Trippett claimed victory in the women’s 5k at the RMU Colonial Invitational, finishing with a personal best time of 16:50.05.

West Virginia received five votes in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Associated (USTFCCCA) Coaches Poll, which was announced on Oct. 1.
