Mum Festival returns to Barberton with air, land, water entertainment
BARBERTON, Ohio – The Barberton Mum Festival will return to Lake Anna Park for the 34th year on Sept. 28-29.
The festival is famous for its thousands of chrysanthemums that are arranged into beautiful works of art throughout the park. With more than one million blooms, the floral display will serve as the backdrop for the free event.
Event highlights include arts and crafts, potted mums for sale and a variety of food and beverages for purchase.
This year’s fest features the theme Mums in Flight and is a nod to the aerial entertainment planned: hot air balloons, a paratrooper and a hang glider. Additional entertainment will include the Chippewa Lake Water Ski Show Team and stilt walkers, variety shows and fire performers from Divine Harmony Entertainment.
A hot air balloon gondola will be at the festival for photo opportunities. Balloon pilot and Barberton resident Bob Zanella, a Federal Aviation Administration-certified instructor, will be available to answer questions community members have about hot-air ballooning.
