Feed.fm has released a report that underscores the significant role music plays in enhancing user engagement within fitness and wellness applications. The 2024 App Engagement Survey reveals compelling data indicating that a substantial majority of fitness app users view music as a key factor in maintaining motivation during workouts. Specifically, 94% of respondents consider music essential for their workout motivation, while 72% report that it boosts their energy levels during app use.

Feed.fm’s survey also highlights the preference for a mix of familiar and new music, with 83% of users expressing a desire for both to keep their routines lively and focused. Furthermore, 73% of participants noted that music positively affects their emotional well-being, reinforcing the idea that a good soundtrack can elevate the overall workout experience.

The insights suggest that integrating music not only fosters longer workout sessions but also increases retention rates. Feed.fm’s Unified Music System allows app developers to provide licensed music effortlessly, alleviating concerns about royalty management.
