Musk and Ramaswamy gather resumes for DOGE jobs: ‘Work 80+ hours per week’ – Washington Examiner

The social media account on X for the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, posted a job listing announcement on Thursday morning calling for “revolutionaries willing to work 80+ hours per week.”

“We are very grateful to the thousands of Americans who have expressed interest in helping us at DOGE. We don’t need more part-time idea generators,” the DOGE account on X said in a post.

The message on X went on to describe a little about what a job at DOGE would entail under billionaire Elon Musk and tech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy‘s leadership.

“We need super high-IQ small-government revolutionaries willing to work 80+ hours per week on unglamorous cost-cutting. If that’s you, DM this account with your CV. Elon & Vivek will review the top 1% of applicants,” the X post added.

The DOGE X account was launched Tuesday night after President-elect Donald Trump announced his choice of Musk and Ramaswamy to co-lead the newly proposed department in an effort to “dismantle government bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies — essential to the ‘Save America’ Movement.”

Trump said Musk and Ramaswamy’s work “will conclude no later than July 4, 2026,” or by the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

While campaigning for Trump in Pennsylvania, Musk regularly spoke about the U.S. government’s overuse of creating new federal agencies and the amount of spending and restrictions that were becoming so burdensome that it would soon become impossible to do business in America.

“There are so many [agencies] that people have never heard of and that have overlapping areas of responsibilities,” Musk said in an interview with Tucker Carlson.

The acronym DOGE is a nod to Musk’s support for a cryptocurrency called Dogecoin.
