My Top 5 Fashion Finds of 2024

I love looking back on what I actually wore throughout the year. I’m mostly a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants kind of person, but at the end of the year I do appreciate a little assessment of what worked and what didn’t…fashion and otherwise.

This year, I feel like I kinda leaned into a new take on my own style that finds that balance between sporty + edgy + femme + masc that I love.

The Best Pieces I’ve Worn In 2024

You’ll see a lot of repeating of elements in the following outfits and you’ll notice a lot of them are for fall and winter (sorry folks, but spring and summer are just not my favorites lol.) I live in a pretty temperate climate and jeans, boots, and jackets are just about year-round pieces for us here.

I hope this helps as I break down what I love and how I wore these pieces. That’s always the goal…to be helpful around here. Let’s get into it!

1 | Anthropologie Maeve Colette Pants

 Shirt (M) | Similar Pants (29) | Boots | Beanie | Purse

I know I’m a bit of a late adapter when it comes to the beloved Maeve Colette pants, but gosh. I’m so glad I finally found them. I already wrote about them back in April, but have continued to add more to my closet and absolutely enjoy wearing them every time.

Fit Notes: True to size on these and most of the fabric seem to have plenty of stretch. The leopard pair are heavier cotton, but still soft and with stretch. The black pair I have is more of a lighter poplin weight perfect for the warmer months. I’ve tried the corduroy and they seemed to run a bit smaller (or maybe they just needed to relax with wear a little.) LOVE the flattering patch pockets on the front. Next up, I want a denim pair (oooh KNIT denim, yes please.)

2 | Moto Boots

Shirt (M) | Similar Pants (29) | Boots

Re-imbracing moto boots this year has been one of the best moves, too. I have forever loved a badass boot and these are classics. I’m so glad they’re back in rotation and on trend again. And I’m really glad I never got rid of mine. Classic boot styles will always come back.

My favorite way to wear these is with my cropped wide leg jeans and pants, so I don’t have to get rid of those either. The taller shaft comes up under the cropped length of the pants and gives them a more streamlined, current look than other boot styles. Love the combo. And have had it on true repeat all year.

3 | Free People Moon Magic Reflective Rain Parka

Raincoat (M)

My forever on-going issue is finding a warm raincoat that still looks cool and modern. Welp, after years and years…I found it. And it’s even called Moon Magic. OKKKK.

It’s not only a heavy fabric that’s great in the winter rain, wind and weather, but it has reflective trim AND cozy fleece lining (but thin and easy to layer under.) I’ve worn it a ton since I got it in late October and I am never going back to any other winter raincoat.

It’s perfection if you’re in the Pacific Northwest or another rainy climate OR if you just want a great heavy raincoat instead of a puffer, etc. (If you’re like me and get overheated all the time in puffers and true winter coats.)

Fit Notes: True to size with room for layering. Nice and long for more warmth this time of year. Removable hood. Snap up collar to keep out the wind and cold. I’m 5’4″ and a true size Medium. If between sizes, you might consider sizing down.

4 | Madewell Essential Bucket Tote

Purse | Shirt (M) | Similar Pants (29)

This Madewell Bucket Tote has been so lovely as an upgrade this fall. The color, the size, the shape, the gold buckle detail…I love all of it when I need an everyday bag that can carry it all. It was the color that got me and still gets me. But I have really enjoyed venturing out beyond a crossbody this year.

5 | Quilted Jackets, But In Solid Colors

Jacket (M) | Hoodie (M) | Joggers (S) | Docs

All the cute patterned quilted jackets everyone has loved over the past few years are so freaking cute, but not quite my vibe. I was excited to finally own a couple of great solid color quilted jackets this year though that I wore on repeat. They’re so comfy and felt on-trend and just so easy. My fav.

The white is an older Urban Outfitters jacket I got through Nuuly (loving this Quince option as an alternative), and the black is from Athleta (a more recent purchase.) I love love them both. I like that they are both a little oversized so I can layer over sweatshirts and they just really complete the look without being fussy or uncomfortable as some jacket styles can be.
